Trip Report
It was a great day for birds on the Mahoning Shadow Trail (MST). I identified a total of 47 species on two different sections of the Trail.
The Warblers were represented by Yellow, Blue-winged, Chestnut-sided, Black-throated Green, Yellow-rumped, and Common Yellowthroat.
And some of the more colorful birds have returned to the MST Scarlet Tanager, Baltimore Oriole, and Indigo Bunting.
I was surprised to find two Spotted Sandpipers foraging along the Mahoning Creek.
A very loud Common Raven put on a show for me near the Rose Run entrance. The bird keep flying up and down the Mahoning Creek and calling the whole time.
And as always the highlight was four Bald Eagles, two adults and two immature.
