Moraine State Park
Outing Leader: Mike Shaffer, Environmental Education Specialist, Moraine/McConnells Mill State Park
Description
Moraine State Park, led by Mike Shaffer. Meet at 8:00 a.m. at the Old 422 Launch by Region 2 Office. If you're coming from Indiana, take Rt. 422 west and get off at the Prospect Exit. Make a right onto Rt. 528 and then an immediate left onto Park Road. Pass the Waterfowl Observation Platform on your left and continue to the large parking area next to the boat launch. We will be looking for fall warblers and other migrants. This area is known to produce some great bird sightings this time of year. The hike is relatively easy on a paved road that takes us through an array of habitats.
