Checking Purple Martin Nest Boxes

Luke Stauffer, who owns a mini-barn business and lives at 1082 Myers Road, Indiana, PA 15701 near Yellow Creek, has invited Todd Bird Club members to attend his Purple Martin nest box checks, which he tries to do every 5 days at 1:00 pm except for Sunday, weather permitting.
Luke had 49 active nests with 210 eggs on June 18. Some of the eggs should be hatching by the time he conducts his June 23 check. Future checks are scheduled for June 29 and every five days after that for the next few weeks. He will quit checking the nests when the nestlings are older so that they don't fledge too early.
You or anyone else is welcome to join him for the nest checks. You can call him a day ahead of time at 724-479-0760 if you want to be sure that his schedule has not changed. You might have to leave a message for him to call you back. He is excited to share his birds with us.
