Mahoning Shadow Trail< Mile 0 - 2
Trip Report
Margaret Higbee, Lee Carnahan, and Tom Glover birded just over two miles of the Mahoning Shadow Trail (MST)on Wednesday the 20th of April, starting at the Fordham terminus to Rose Run. A total of 53 species were heard or viewed.
A number of warblers were found including:
Nashville
Blackburnian
Black-throated Green
Black-and-white
Yellow-rumped
Common Yellowthroat
Sparrows were represented by:
Chipping
Field
Song
Swamp
White-throated
Other birds of note included:
Broad-winged Hawk
American Kestrel
Belted Kingfisher
Both Golden- and Ruby-crowned Kinglets
Blue-gray Gnatcatcher
The highlight was the four Bald Eagles, two adults and two juveniles viewed from the Trail.
