Description

Mahoning Shadow Trail, 342 Water Street, Punxsutawney, PA 15767, led by Tom Glover (tomnglover@comcast.net). Meet at 8:00 a.m. at the sewage treatment plant trailhead parking lot. This section of the trail has 50 well preserved, over-100-year-old coke ovens.

Directions: take US 119 north from Indiana; just before Punxsutawney turn left onto PA Rt. 436. After about 1 3⁄4 miles turn right after crossing the bridge onto North Main St. In a short distance, turn right onto Grace Way, across from the Kwik Fill station, and then turn right onto Water St. Water St. follows the Mahoning Creek and takes you to the treatment plant parking lot.
