Tuesday Morning Outings at Yellow Creek will continue, weather permitting. Meet at 8:00 at the park office located on Rt. 259 just off Rt. 422 east of Indiana. Trip Report

On May 1, 2012 I participated in the Tuesday morning walk at Yellow Creek State Park. Participants were Margaret Higbee, Lee Carnahan, Tom Glover, Gloria Lamer, Richard Nugent and three students from Indiana University of Pa (Maria, Natalie and Hayat). Heavy rain had moved through the area overnight and resulted in a fallout of migrants. We ended with 82 species of birds including 14 kinds of warblers. Another amazing spectacle was the migrating Forster's Terns, which would arrive as a group, fly around gracefully for a while and then gain altitude and depart to the north. The waves of terns added up to 85 birds. Our list of highlights is below (the complete list is on eBird):
